Maths in the sunshine!

We have done all our Maths outside this week in the glorious sunshine. We set up circuits of Maths activities and each team worked their way round the games challenging themselves and helping each other. We took numicon out and created symmetrical pictures. We took metre sticks out and measured the length and width of the KS1 playground. We used the new markings on the playground to give us hoops for playing a game with bean bags, scoring hundreds, tens and units. As we hopped on the hopscotch we counted in jumps of 2s, 5s and 10s and then challenged each other to count in different steps. We used sand timers and pedometers to see how many steps we could do in 1 and 3 minutes. It was so brilliant to be able to practise all our learning, enjoying the sunshine and our wonderful playground.

Enjoy this video of us playing all the different games!
